ISA, IE and FTP: A Recipe for Pain

If you trying to access FTP sites which require logon usernames and passwords through IE and ISA here is a bit of advice: Don’t. Do yourself a favor and install or use a real FTP client such as WINSCP, Filezilla, or even the FTP command line tool in Windows. Internet Explorer makes a terrible FTP client, especially when trying to connect through ISA. Even Firefox would be a better choice than IE for a FTP client. It’s amazing how poorly Microsoft’s own products seem to work with each other.
